BALTIC Centre of Contemporary Art and Dance City (UK), commissioned Surface Area Dance Theatre in 2014. Then with additional support from Arts Council England and partnering organisations, Auricular in 2017, toured to CCA: Glasgow, Berwick Visual Arts and Turner Contemporary.
Auricular was supported using public funding by the National Lottery through Arts Council England.
“It’s fairly new for BALTIC to work with a dance company, but it has been an incredible experience, and I am sure we will do many other performances if possible… Surface Area has a pretty formidable reputation, so it was an easy decision to bring dance into the very traditional space of a gallery”.
