December 3rd, marks the celebrated International Day of People with Disabilities, and the theme of this year’s celebration is remembering that "Not All Disabilities Are Visible". With this in mind, I am celebrating with friends while also inviting more awareness of disabilities that are not immediately apparent, such as mental illness, learning differences, neurological disorders, among others. We can remind ourself and each other of the importance of removing barriers for all people living with a disability, both visible and invisible.

Hello, my name is Christopher Fonseca, and welcome to Surface Area Dance Theatre. I’m here to introduce you to a series of online dance and wellness activities that I will be piloting in the coming weeks. The essence of our shared time is structured around what I like to think of as a baseline, which connects feelings and thoughts to in-the-moment stimulus. This is something that I have been focusing my attention on over the past months. My discussions with friends and colleagues have encouraged me to open up a shared space for self-development, discovery, and awareness.
All sessions will be pre-recorded and available for drop-in. Further information and guidance will be posted over the next weeks, so please do stay connected.
Thank you for your support and interest.
